Commissions
If there's something you're looking for that isn't currently listed in the shop, I'd love to hear from you. I accept a limited number of commissions for made-to-order pieces, dependent on my studio schedule.
Commission work is a great fit if you have a specific size in mind, want a coordinated set, or need something designed for a particular use. The more detail you can share, the better - I'll always tell you what's possible (and what isn't) before we move forward.
Examples of past commissions
Commissioned vessels I've previously made include:
- Dinnerware: plates, soup bowls, snack bowls
- Drinkware: mugs, espresso cups, teacups, ceramic drinking glasses
- Pets' ware: traditional food/water bowls, slow feeder bowls
- Serving dishes: large mixing/salad bowls, platters, salt pigs, gravy boats, coffee drippers
- Lidded jars: onggi/kimchi crocks, cookie jars, urns
- Housegoods: vases, plant pots and saucers, tiles
How commissions work
- Submit the form below (don't be shy - more detail is helpful). Please complete one form per unique vessel or set.
- I'll review your request and email you a price and timeline. Quotes are based on factors like size, complexity, number of components, expedited timelines, and current studio capacity. Bulk orders may receive a labor discount.
- Confirm your commission by accepting the quote and submitting a deposit.
- I make your piece(s) from clay, fire twice, and glaze. This process takes an average of 4-6 weeks but timing can vary depending on complexity and kiln schedule.
- When your piece(s) are ready, you can pick them up or I can ship them for an additional cost.
A few helpful notes
- Because commissions are made specifically for you, deposits are non-refundable once work begins.
- Handmade ceramics naturally include subtle variation. I'll aim for your requested look and function while keeping the work true to my style and process.
- If you're working toward a deadline (gift, event, move), let me know in the form and I'll let you know what's realistic.
